Choose Your Adventure!

Deep Sea Fishing, San Jose Island, Birding and More!

“Anchored in Port Aransas, Texas, “The Fishing Capital of Texas”

Deep Sea Fishing – Step aboard the 75-foot twin-hull catamaran, the ‘Wharf Cat’, for our 4 / 5-hour fishing trip. New to fishing? Great! The crew will be there to give you a hand along the way. Drift fishing on most trips, mainly targeting: Kingfish, Ling, Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks. These fish are migratory and typically visit us during the summer months when the water temperatures are warmer.

San Jose Island – has some of the best bird watching around. Continue your birding experience by visiting San José Island. Get a glimpse of pelagic species and numerous coastal birds along the coastline. From swimming to relaxing on the beach to taking a stroll for Sand Dollars. These 21 miles of undeveloped beach, has something for everyone.

Dolphin Watch – Jump on the Jetty Boat and meet our playful neighbors in water – the bottlenose dolphin. You will enjoy a relaxing cruise through the warm gulf waters. These waters provide an picturesque place for dolphin watching and are home year-round to several large pods of our bottlenose friends.

Sunset Cruises – Leave your worries behind and sail off into Port Aransas’ famous sunset aboard our 81′ catamaran – the Scat Cat. For two hours, you will cruise through the tropical waters of the Gulf. Surrounded by the warm ocean breeze and colorful Port A sunset as a picturesque backdrop. Mingle with a group of friends or snuggle up with your special one, while the sky is painted with bright vibrant colors as the sun sets on our coastline. You will start to understand what island paradise is all about.

Whooping Crane Boat Tours – Every year, from November through early April, the Wharf Cat winds its way through the vast Aransas Bay complex to the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge where magnificent, endangered whooping cranes make their winter home. Along the way, birders view coastal scenery and observe many species of birds that frequent the barrier islands and reefs. Local naturalists narrate our tours and share their knowledge of whooping cranes, past and present plus many other species of birds and provide information for beginner, intermediate and advanced bird watchers.

Upon arrival at the refuge, birders are treated to a breathtaking view of the whooping cranes and other diverse forms of wildlife. With the highest observation decks of any area vessels, the Wharf Cat provides the best viewing and photography opportunities in Rockport and Port Aransas.

The Wharf Cat has a shallow draft and can drift very close to shore, where the captain will make several stops allowing you to get “up close and personal” with the “whoopers”, so be sure to bring your camera. Area birding checklists and spotting scopes are provided on our bird watching trips and we offer binocular rentals.
